I tried a search for Teddy Roosevelt, the results were nice and though there were not as many hits compared to other products… I thought with encyclopedias - less may be more? Also I like the lay out of the start page, the individual could be directed very quickly to a search that would be optimal for the user.
Britannica, of course, is a well-respected encyclopedia. The interface is easy and I like that you can also retrieve articles from Ebsco and Proquest in your searches. I wonder, however, if Britannica is TOO much of good thing. When I did a search on "Switzerland," the resulting article is 72 screen long (about 61 printed pages). Seems like overkill. Other articles are shorter than I would think (Teddy Roosevelt, as in Sam's post above). When patrons want a print encyclopedia, I don't always go for Britannica first. I like World Book for most general questions -- in print and online.
