I read many of the reviews and read-a-likes for several non-fiction titles I have read, and find the recommendations very satisfactory. For those librarians who are not readers of non-fiction, this is a good place to go when a patron has read a particular memoir or travelogue and wants more of the same.
I saw a demo of Bowker's version of this at PLA. It was very slick but, they didn't have as many titles to work with. Two of the three books I suggested were not in the database. All of them are in Novelist plus.
